Shitastrophy and a puppy

This is Lazarus Ezekiel Schaeffer.  He is our AKC Czechoslovakian German Shepherd.  Way bigger than your standard "Rin Tin Tin" kind of shepherd.  We rescued the dog from a bad situation.   We've had him for seven years now.  He's a good dog, he just thinks he's the size of a teacup Chihuahua.  He's not.  He weighs at least 120 lbs and stands about 5'3" when he is standing on his back feet.  He's large and in charge.  And the other night we had a full blown Shitastrophy.  Laz developed a screaming case of diarrhea at 2:30 am, then about 4:00 am he went again...all over everywhere.  Shiterrific!.  Then when I woke up at 8:00 am  and found not only did he have more diarrhea but he also peed by the back door.  It was a shitastic day!

I couldn't even be mad at him.  He couldn't help it and he tried to make it to the door. Plus, I totally feel his pain. It looked like someone took chocolate milk with chunks of brownies and just dumped it on the floor - splatters in all.  And the smell, I can't describe the smell.  It sure didn't smell like chocolate.  After cleaning the mess three different times I think I became immune to it.  (And when did I get designated to clean up the poop?  Oh wait, I can't handle the throw up so Hubs does that.  That's right.)

You'd think I'd be sick of dogs and all their little (and big) messes but not even close.  We got a new puppy.  His name is Loki Von Maxamus and he is a regular German Shepherd.  He is totally adorable and definitely a scrappy little one.  Just take a look at this face:

He's doing a little Elvis impersonation.

Updates along the way....

Hello Jenni,

Now, before you get fired up, I know Crohn's Disease is not contagious, and that may be because I work for a health site. But other people don't know, and they may ask you. Which is why my colleague wrote "15 Questions Crohn’s Disease Patients Wish You’d Stop Asking."

He has Crohn's Disease, and he's sick of hearing unsupportive questions over and over again about his condition. Therefore, he compiled questions from our Crohn's Disease community who find it therapeutic to vent frustrations with other patients.

Check it out here: http://www.healthline.com/health/crohns-disease/chatting

Jenni, I hope you are experiencing good results with your alternative therapy. Would you share this article in an upcoming blog with to help others find support?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!
